BALCONIES

The balcony, a place between indoors and outdoors, becomes an inconspicuous stage for the absurdities of everyday life. In six episodes, completely different characters find themselves in comic, tragic and unexpectedly intimate situations on their balconies. Sometimes it’s about love and freedom, sometimes about VR glasses, bungee jumping, orange trees and broken lighters. Yet the balcony seems to be a different place for everyone, from prison to freedom.

All stills shown are from the episode „Der Bademeister“. This project is a collaboration with DPs Michael Throne (episodes „Der Heimtrainer“ / „Das 7. Jahr“), Maximilian Schlehuber (episodes „Das Bettlaken“ / „Der Orangenbaum“) and Christian Neuberger (episode „Die Besichtigung“).
